Baseball Recap: Cabrillo Takes a Loss

Cabrillo couldn't beat Pioneer Valley on Friday even though they stacked six runs on them in the fifth inning. The Conquistadores fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 8-7. The Conquistadores were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Gavin Rodriguez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Kiesling, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

With the defeat, Cabrillo broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-8. As for Pioneer Valley, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-11.

Coming up, Cabrillo will head out on the road to take on St. Joseph at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pioneer Valley, they have already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against San Luis Obispo on the 29th.
