Basketball Recap: Wewahitchka Piles Up the Points Against Covenant Christian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Liberty County, Wewahitchka was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 66-26 win over Covenant Christian. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-11.

Wewahitchka was led to victory by Jayvyn Walker and Kaden Brooks. Walker went 7 of 12 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds, while Brooks went 7 of 17 on his way to 19 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Brooks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhemy Patrick, who posted nine points and four steals.

Wewahitchka was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Wewahitchka's record now sits at 5-9. As for Covenant Christian, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Wewahitchka will look to defend their home court on Monday against Poplar Springs at 1:00 p.m. As for Covenant Christian, they will head out to take on West Florida Baptist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
