Basketball Game Preview: Webster Tigers vs. Spooner Rails

Webster and Spooner are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Webster Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Spooner Rails at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spooner took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Webster, who comes in off a win.

Webster is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 71-41 stomp they got against Hurley. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 30 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Spooner was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 44-32 to Chetek-Weyerhaeuser.

Spooner's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Webster, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Webster strolled past Spooner in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 63-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Webster since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
