Baseball Game Preview: Carlson Marauders vs. Roosevelt Bears

The Carlson Marauders will head out to face off against the Roosevelt Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Carlson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Carlson didn't have quite enough to beat Trenton and fell 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Marauders in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost five in a row.

Carlson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Borowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Thunderbirds.

The victory got Roosevelt back to even at 11-11. As for Carlson, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-13.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Carlson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Roosevelt struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Carlson skirted past Roosevelt 7-5 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marauders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
