Basketball Game Preview: Rockmart Yellowjackets vs. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors

Rockmart is 0-5 against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe since December of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. The Rockmart Yellowjackets will head out to square off against the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors at 5:30 p.m.

Rockmart is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They were dealt a 79-40 loss at the hands of Union County. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while the Panthers are ranked 51st).

Meanwhile, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe beat North Murray 71-62 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Rockmart, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Rockmart came up short against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 65-60. Can Rockmart avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
