Softball Recap: Bell Gardens Victorious

After losing to Calvary Chapel the last time they met, Bell Gardens decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bell Gardens Lancers blew past the Calvary Chapel Grizzlies 27-7 on Saturday.

Nayeli Gomez was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Jailene Roman was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Bell Gardens' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Calvary Chapel, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Bell Gardens has already played their next match, a 9-8 defeat against Oxford Academy on the 22nd. As for Calvary Chapel, they will host Savanna at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Chapel is facing Savanna at the right time seeing as Savanna is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
