Benton came tearing into Saturday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Haughton Buccaneers get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won 16 matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Benton pushed their record up to 21-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Haughton, they moved to 19-4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their 13-game winning streak.

Benton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Haughton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
