Softball Recap: New Philadelphia's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While New Philadelphia put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Mansfield Senior. The Quakers were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Tygers. Considering the Quakers have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ellie Mason looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Mckenzie Mason was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and three doubles. Jaila Gonzalez was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-3.

New Philadelphia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory was the fourth in a row for New Philadelphia, bringing their record up to 9-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Mansfield Senior, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, New Philadelphia will be playing at home against Claymont at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mansfield Senior, they will head out to challenge Crestline at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
