Baseball Game Preview: Pequea Valley Braves vs. Solanco Golden Mules

The Pequea Valley Braves will host the Solanco Golden Mules at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Pequea Valley's offense. They fell just short of Oley Valley by a score of 1-0 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Braves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Pequea Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coleston Temple, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Solanco put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Columbia by a score of 12-8. Solanco's win was all the more impressive since the Crimson Tide were averaging only 3.5 runs allowed on the season.

The team relied heavily on Lucas Vilk, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Gilman, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Solanco's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Pequea Valley, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
