Deerfield entered their tilt with Maine South on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They had just enough and edged the Maine South Hawks out 61-59. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Hawks are ranked 175th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Deerfield's record is now 17-7. As for Maine South, they dropped their record down to 11-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
