An early defeat to No. 2 St. Vincent-St. Mary (Akron) has apparently only motivated the Fighting Crusaders from Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati).

With a 45-43 win at No. 22 La Salle (Cincinnati) on Friday, the Crusaders maintained the No. 1 position in the Ohio Top 25 boys basketball rankings.

Archbishop Moeller, which lost 64-59 at St. Vincent-St. Mary, the alma mater of LeBron James, on Dec. 7, has now won nine straight games to improve to 10-1. Under coach Carl Kremer, Moeller owns five Ohio basketball titles (2018-19, 2007, 2003 and 1999). In his 30th season as coach at Moeller, Kremer has won 585 games.

St. Vincent won its third straight game, 69-51 against visiting Warrensville Heights (Warrensville), to remain in the No. 2 spot in the rankings.

Third-ranked Lincoln (Gahanna) beat Elntangy Liberty (Powell) 67-52 to improve to 12-0. The Golden Lions are one of six teams in The Top 25 that are undefeated. They allow just 45.25 points per game.
