Basketball Recap: Duor Duor Key Part of a Team Effort in Hornets Win

South Atlanta won the last time they faced Salem and things went their way on Tuesday too. The South Atlanta Hornets walked away with a 47-39 win over the Salem Seminoles. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Seminoles are ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Atlanta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Duor Duor led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Duor has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Bol Deng, who posted five points and six boards.

South Atlanta pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Salem, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

South Atlanta will venture away from home to square off against Drew Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Atlanta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.2 points per game this season. As for Salem, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Redan at 7:30 p.m.
