Preview: NYOS Charter Jaguars vs. Meridian Lions
NYOS Charter is 8-1 against the Lions since November of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The NYOS Charter Jaguars will play host again and welcome the Meridian Lions, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
NYOS Charter stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Austin Royals HomeSchool 48-21 at home.
Trey Huff continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Tadios, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Meridian walked away with it. They strolled past the Cardinals with points to spare last Wednesday, taking the game 67-48. Winning may never get old, but Meridian sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
NYOS Charter's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Meridian, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
NYOS Charter beat the Lions 45-32 in their previous meeting back in January. Does NYOS Charter have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
