Marcio Silva put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March on Wednesday. He struck out three batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

Silva's effort led Bend over Redmond and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are limping into the matchup having lost five straight on the road. There's no doubt they're looking for a change of fortune, but will Silva and the Lava Bears have enough to stop it?
