Basketball Game Preview: West Seattle vs. Seattle Prep Panthers

West Seattle and Seattle Prep are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. West Seattle will be playing in front of their home fans against the Seattle Prep Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, West Seattle didn't have too much trouble with Nathan Hale as they won 72-55.

Meanwhile, Seattle Prep faced Garfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Seattle Prep fell to Garfield 80-76. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (70), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

West Seattle is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points per game. As for Seattle Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

West Seattle won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, slipping by Seattle Prep 64-63. Does West Seattle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Seattle Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
