Basketball Recap: Abingdon Comes Up Short

Abingdon came up into this matchup off a tough 20-point loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Gate City Blue Devils by a score of 42-40 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-43 back in January.

Abingdon is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-8. As for Gate City, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

Coming up, Abingdon will challenge John Battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gate City, they will face off against Hampton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
