Basketball Recap: Coastal Homeschool Piles Up the Points Against Augusta E

A well-balanced attack led Coastal HomeSchool over Augusta E in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Coastal HomeSchool Hurricanes blew the Augusta E Eagles out of the water with a 65-36 final score. The Hurricanes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Coastal HomeSchool had a senior duo take command as Colin Wood went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points along with seven boards and three steals and Micah Faith went 6 for 9 en route to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Wood a new career-high in rebounds. Sawyer Wigley was another key player, putting up ten points.

Coastal HomeSchool was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Augusta E only posted seven assists.

Augusta E's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jude Brouwer, who posted 19 points and five steals. Brouwer's morning made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Briley, who scored nine points and three blocks.

Coastal HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Augusta E, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

Coastal HomeSchool has already played their next contest, an 86-45 win against Alleluia Community on the 18th. As for Augusta E, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-59 loss against Milledgeville Athletic Club on the 25th.
