Basketball Recap: Skyline Grizzlies vs. Blackfoot Broncos
Skyline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Blackfoot Broncos. The Grizzlies were not able to make up for their loss to the Broncos from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.
Blackfoot was led to victory by Austin Arave and Lawrence Cousineau. Arave almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds, while Cousineau went 5 for 6 en route to 12 points along with five boards and three steals. Those nine rebounds gave Arave a new career-high. Ledger Baldwin was another key player, putting up five points.
Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Blackfoot, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyline has already played their next match (against Hillcrest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Blackfoot will square off against Idaho Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
