Basketball Recap: Morgan Odom Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lexington

There's no place like home for Southeast Guilford, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 58-45 victory over the Lexington Yellowjackets on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Southeast Guilford got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Morgan Odom out in front who went 5 for 12 on her way to 20 points. The matchup was Odom's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Sophia Stevens was another key player, putting up 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makayla Bobo, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Lily Ervin, who had 12 points.

Southeast Guilford has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Lexington, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.

Southeast Guilford is taking a road trip to challenge Grimsley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Grimsley will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Southeast Guilford surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lexington, they will host Morehead at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
