Basketball Recap: Salesian Has No Trouble Against Cardinal Spellman

After losing to Cardinal Spellman the last time they met, Salesian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Salesian Eagles greeted the New Year with with a 53-39 win over the Cardinal Spellman The Pilots.

Julien Wiggins was his usual excellent self, as he made all 7 shots he took for 21 points. Another player making a difference was Vaughn Meier, who posted 11 points.

Salesian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Cardinal Spellman, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Salesian has already played their next matchup, a 69-61 victory against LaSalle Academy on the 5th. As for Cardinal Spellman, they will face off against Cathedral Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
