Soccer Recap: Rosemead Comes Up Short

Rosemead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 4-2 to the South El Monte Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 860th, while the Eagles are ranked 118th).

Gavin Raygoza wasn't going to let South El Monte walk away unscathed as he scored both of Rosemead's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Rosemead's loss dropped their record down to 4-11-4. As for South El Monte, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rosemead will square off against Gabrielino at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for South El Monte, they will challenge Arroyo at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
