Libertyville dropped down to 5-4 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They were dealt a 49-21 defeat at the hands of the Warren Township Blue Devils. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trevor Wallace, who threw for 232 yards and a pair of TDs. Gavin Dickson helped Wallace out on the ground, rushing for 69 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

As for Warren Township, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.1 points on average over those games.

Aaron Stewart produced another solid effort rushing for 227 yards and six scores while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 18th straight game with at least 113 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Libertyville and Warren Township are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Wildcats will face off against Central on Friday. The Rockets' defense has only allowed 9.7 points per game this season, so Libertyville's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Warren Township, they will look to defend their home field on November 1 against New Trier at 7:00 p.m.
