Preview: St. Edward vs. Wilcox-Hildreth

St. Edward have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will look to defend their home turf next week against Wilcox-Hildreth at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps national rankings project a close matchup.

St. Edward have to be hurting after a devastating 26-48 loss at the hands of Dorchester last Friday. St. Edward got a solid performance out of senior Lucien Ruby, who rushed for 208 yards and 3 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory.

Meanwhile, everything went Wilcox-Hildreth's way against Deshler as the team secured a 56-20 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-20.

Wilcox-Hildreth's victory lifted them to 2-0 while St. Edward's defeat dropped them down to 0-2. In their victory, Wilcox-Hildreth relied heavily on senior Aj Jenkins, who rushed for 185 yards and 3 touchdowns; a key strategy for St. Edward will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
