Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Chillicothe

Chillicothe had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Bishop Watterson Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 win. This was a revenge game for the Cavaliers: when they faced off against the Eagles back in March, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

While Chillicothe won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-18, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Mercer Cutright and Carter Dunfee, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from David Rourke and his 33 assists. Cutright was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Chillicothe's victory bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Bishop Watterson, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-8 record.

Looking ahead, Chillicothe will challenge Middletown at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bishop Watterson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
