Softball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Wins Going Away Against Peters Township

Thomas Jefferson won the last time they faced Peters Township and things went their way on Friday too. The Jaguars blew past the Indians 7-1. Considering the Jaguars have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Aubrey Shaffer made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

In other batting news, Madden Stanek was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Sophie Janosko was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Thomas Jefferson now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Peters Township, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
