After a string of five wins, Riverdale's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 17-0 to the Chalmette Owls. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Rebels were not able to get on the board.

Riverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Chalmette, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.

Looking ahead, Riverdale will head out to square off against Bonnabel on Thursday. The Bruins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.3 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chalmette, they will welcome Fontainebleau at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Owls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
