Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Minico). They were the clear victor by a 66-40 margin over the Wood River Wolverines on Tuesday. The Spartans pushed the score to 51-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolverines had little chance of recovering from.

Despite the loss, Wood River saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tony Ambriz posted 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Ambriz.

The victory was the third in a row for Minico, bringing their record for this year to 4-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Wood River, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minico will face off against Jerome at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wood River, they will take on Burley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
