Pleasanton had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against the Brazos Cougars by a score of 7-2.

Marcus Guardiola was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Erik Coronado, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Jayden Arrendondo was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Pleasanton's record is now 5-1. As for Brazos, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coincidentally, Pleasanton and Brazos will both be playing Schulenburg the next time they take the field. Brazos will head out to face Schulenburg at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while Pleasanton will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
