Volleyball Recap: Belmont Comes Up Short

The Belmont Bison came up short against the Preble Shawnee Arrows on Monday, falling 3-0. The Bison have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-9, 25-6.

Preble Shawnee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bentlee McCain led the charge by getting seven digs and six aces. Those six aces gave McCain a new career-high. Aubree Thompson was another key player, getting seven digs and four aces.

Belmont's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Preble Shawnee, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.

Looking ahead, Belmont will head out to square off against Thurgood Marshall at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Preble Shawnee, they will welcome National Trail at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
