Softball Recap: Crook County Comes Up Short

Crook County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Estacada on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rangers by a score of 6-4. The Cowboys were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rangers earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Chloe McKenzie was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Jolene Bartolotti was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Crook County moved to 9-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Estacada, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Crook County will take on rival Madras on Monday. Meanwhile, Estacada is set to square off against their familiar foe The Dalles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
