Softball Recap: Old Lyme Finds Playoff Glory Versus Canton

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Old Lyme walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Canton Warriors on Monday as they made off with a 15-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Old Lyme is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Canton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coming up, Old Lyme will face off against North Branford at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Thunderbirds will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. Canton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
