Los Fresnos hasn't had much luck against San Benito recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Falcons will take on the Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
San Benito will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Los Fresnos extended their winning streak to six last Friday. The Falcons simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sharyland 63-20. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-14.

Robert Pineda produced another solid performance throwing for 220 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 41 yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, he racked up 154.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Enrique Guerra, who picked up 129 receiving yards and two scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Los Fresnos was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in 15 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Los Fresnos, adding 15 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ismael Moreno, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after only three points in their last contest, San Benito made sure to put some points up on the board against Hanna on Friday. The Greyhounds put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 34-13 win. The Greyhounds haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
San Benito's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Los Fresnos, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Everything came up roses for Los Fresnos against San Benito in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 45-17 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
