Football Recap: Eastern Wayne Takes a Loss

Eastern Wayne and Reidsville squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Eastern Wayne had to settle for second. They took a 41-24 bruising from the Rams.

Despite the loss, Eastern Wayne still got an impressive performance from Izeiah Oates, who threw for 275 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 32 yards and one score. Tykel Battle was in the mix as well, providing the Warriors with one touchdown.

Michael Smith had a dynamite game For Reidsville., rushing for 209 yards and one TD while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. Smith showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 69 yards.

Eastern Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Reidsville, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Eastern Wayne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Reidsville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Rams 14.8, the Spartans 11.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
