Baseball Recap: Sandia Prep Wins Going Away Against Bosque

Sandia Prep's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Bosque Bobcats with a sharp 19-3 win. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Sundevils this season.

Sandia Prep got a massive performance out of Matteo Herrera, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Herrera a new career-high. Logan Lemons was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

Sandia Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bosque only posted an OBP of .375.

Sandia Prep pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Bosque, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.
