Baseball Recap: Danville Beats Midd-West for Their Seventh Straight Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Danville). They put the hurt on the Midd-West Mustangs with a sharp 16-3 victory on Monday. Considering the Ironmen have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Garrett Hoffman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Daniel Walker was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Danville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Midd-West only posted an OBP of .238.

The win was the seventh in a row for Danville, bringing their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Midd-West, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
