The Perry-Lecompton Kaws will square off against the Sabetha Bluejays at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Perry-Lecompton will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Perry-Lecompton barely beat St. Marys the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Kaws' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bears a 17-0 shutout on Monday. The Kaws' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Macie Corcoran was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. Jolie Corcoran also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Perry-Lecompton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Marys only posted a batting average of .105.
Meanwhile, Sabetha strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on Burlington with a sharp 13-2 win. Fans of the Bluejays have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Chloe Detweiler made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Detweiler was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Edelman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Regan Hasenkamp was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Perry-Lecompton's record now sits at 2-4. As for Sabetha, their record is now 3-0.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Perry-Lecompton hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Sabetha struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Perry-Lecompton might still be hurting after the 14-4 loss they got from Sabetha in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Kaws avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
