Football Preview: Barton Bears vs. Dumas Bobcats
The Barton Bears will challenge the Dumas Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Barton has given up an average of 26.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Barton managed to slip by Palestine-Wheatley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bears had to suffer through a 49-13 loss at the hands of the Patriots. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dumas' win came from a few key players Barton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Rashad Moore, who rushed for 103 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Young, who threw for 148 yards and three touchdowns.
Dumas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ke'Marion Jackson and Da'Shawn Norah. Jordan Kinney was another major factor on D, making 16 total tackles.
Barton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Dumas, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Barton might still be hurting after the 28-7 loss they got from Dumas in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bears were down 28-0.
