Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for White Pigeon

White Pigeon never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Lawrence Tigers 12-0. The win was familiar territory for the Chiefs, who have now won four contests in a row.

Brody Block was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

In other batting news, Bristol Ultz and Dace Kochel JR. did most of the damage at the plate: Ultz got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Kochel JR. went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Kochel JR. a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

White Pigeon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrence only posted an OBP of .176.

White Pigeon's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Lawrence, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: White Pigeon beat the Tigers by a score of 3-2 later that day.
