Softball Recap: Eastern Falls Short of Salem in the Playoffs

Eastern and Salem squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Eastern had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1. The Musketeers haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Bracie Jackson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eastern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adriana Dolleris, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Salem, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

Eastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Salem, they will face off against Brownstown Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
