Football Recap: Orange Beach Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Orange Beach was feeling good fresh off their 47-21 takedown of Satsuma last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Makos fell 22-18 to the Robertsdale Golden Bears on Thursday. The Makos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Cub Jones was nothing short of spectacular for Robertsdale: he rushed for 77 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 154 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. Jones got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 54 yards.

Orange Beach has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Robertsdale, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Orange Beach will head out to take on Escambia County at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd. The Makos will be up against the Blue Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Robertsdale, they will be playing at home against Baker at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd.
