Recap: Rockmart Yellowjackets vs. Gordon Central Warriors
The Rockmart Yellowjackets stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 72-30 win over Gordon Central at home. Given Rockmart's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Gordon Central is ranked 453rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rockmart had a senior duo take command as Analee Morris scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals and Sky Myers scored 16 points along with five steals. Morris hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Emma Hindmon, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Rockmart is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Gordon Central, they bumped their record down to 6-14 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Rockmart will challenge Bowdon at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bowdon is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Gordon Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Murray County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
