Basketball Recap: Ashton-Franklin Center Takes a Loss

Ashton-Franklin Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Polo Marcos. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-35 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Ashton-Franklin Center lost, don't look at Brock Lehman. Despite the final result, he posted 24 points. The dominant performance gave Lehman a new career-high in points.

Ashton-Franklin Center's loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Polo, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashton-Franklin Center will welcome Hiawatha at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Polo, they will take on Orangeville at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Polo is facing Orangeville at the right time seeing as Orangeville is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
