Baseball Recap: Crete-Monee Takes a Loss

Crete-Monee lost to Rich Township on Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Warriors fell just short of the Raptors by a score of 10-9. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tyler Burnett and Keegan Quaderer did some serious damage despite the final result: Burnett went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Quaderer got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Quaderer has become a key player for Crete-Monee: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 10-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Schubbe, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Crete-Monee's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Rich Township, they pushed their record up to 25-6 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home.

While Crete-Monee had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
