Volleyball Recap: Glendale Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Glendale Prep Academy lost against North Phoenix Preparatory Academy on September 2nd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Griffins fell just short of the Gladiators by a score of 2-1. While the Griffins didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gladiators 25-18 in the first set.

Glendale Prep Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-21, 15-5.

Leading North Phoenix Preparatory Academy to victory were Coco Veatch and Maddy Nicholson. Veatch had 14 digs and one assist, while Nicholson had eight digs. With that strong performance, Veatch is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game.

Glendale Prep Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Glendale Prep Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Lake Havasu on the 19th. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Independence on the 19th.
