Softball Game Preview: Marshall Redhawks vs. Quincy Orioles

The Marshall Redhawks will challenge the Quincy Orioles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Marshall's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Mason 13-0.

Bella Ryan was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Brooke Carden was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Quincy made easy work of Concord on Friday and carried off an 11-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Orioles in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won five in a row.

Quincy got a massive performance out of Deziray Skirka, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Miley Poindexter, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Everything went Marshall's way against Quincy in their previous matchup back in April of 2018, as Marshall made off with an 8-2 win. Do the Redhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Orioles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
