Basketball Recap: Austin Comes Up Short

Austin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 61-41 to the Mars Hill Bible Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Black Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Panthers are ranked 47th).

Austin's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Mars Hill Bible, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Austin and Mae Jemison will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mars Hill Bible, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sheffield at 6:00 p.m. Mars Hill Bible knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Sheffield likes a good challenge.
