Softball Game Preview: Barr-Reeve Vikings vs. Southridge Raiders

Barr-Reeve is 0-4 against Southridge since May of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Barr-Reeve is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Barr-Reeve took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against North Posey, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Barr-Reeve had just enough and edged out North Posey 1-0 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Southridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Forest Park on Monday, taking the game 11-7. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Barr-Reeve pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Southridge, their record now sits at 8-9.

Barr-Reeve suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Southridge in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
