Recap: Dexter Tigers vs. Piscataquis Pirates
The Dexter Tigers were the 69-42 winner over the Piscataquis Pirates when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Dexter fell just short of Piscataquis by a score of 50-47.
Despite the loss, Dexter had strong showings from Ethan Doherty, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, and Will Spratt, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Cooper, who scored eight points.
Dexter's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. As for Piscataquis, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Dexter will head out on the road to face off against Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Piscataquis won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Stearns at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. Stearns will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Piscataquis is ranked 16th).
