Basketball Preview: Bartlesville Bruins vs. Ponca City Wildcats

The Bartlesville Bruins will be playing at home against the Ponca City Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Ponca City took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Bartlesville, who comes in off a win.

Bartlesville can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game last Friday. They took down Grant 55-38. The win was just what Bartlesville needed coming off of a 77-36 loss in their prior game.

Meanwhile, Ponca City's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Stillwater 75-39. While losing is never fun, Ponca City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Pioneers are ranked 89th).

Tay Moore put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was AJ Landes, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.

Bartlesville's victory bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Ponca City, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Bartlesville couldn't quite finish off the Wildcats in their previous matchup back in January and fell 53-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Moore, who shot 4-for-9 from deep and dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Now that Bartlesville knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
