Basketball Recap: Coral Springs Charter Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Coral Springs Charter can now relate to. They lost to the Bishop Verot Vikings on the road by a 67-49 margin on Thursday.

Leading Bishop Verot to victory were Caroline Ward and Cameron O'Halloran. Ward went 11-for-22 en route to 32 points in addition to six steals and five boards, while O'Halloran went 10-for-18 on her way to 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which O'Halloran has scored at least a third of Bishop Verot's points. Gwen Pfleger was another key player, putting up four points and seven rebounds.

Coral Springs Charter's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Bishop Verot, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Coral Springs Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Verot, they will face off against Somerset Academy - Canyons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
